Not if this is your first property. If you are buying less than 6 properties, then you do not have to file anything with the SEC for your Florida real estate. You should contact both an accountant and a lawyer if you plan on buying more then 5 properties so that you know exactly what you need to do and what you are getting in to before you do it. If you don’t plan on owning 6 properties, then you don’t need to worry about the SEC at this point in time.
